I grew up in a big, lively family where birthdays were always a big deal. My mom made a homemade cake for each of us, and those sweet traditions made every celebration feel magical.
As I got older, I loved making fun invitations and decorations for my nieces and nephews — it was my little way of keeping the birthday magic going. When I became a mom, I simply saw it in a new light — how quickly the days pass and how special it is to pause and celebrate these sweet moments.
When I planned my daughter’s first birthday, I spent months searching and designing the perfect touches — and that’s when it hit me: I could help other parents create the same magic, without the stress.
DIY Birthday Studio was born from that wish — to make heartfelt, simple celebrations easy for families everywhere.
Each child deserves a magical celebration. Each parent deserves to create it without losing their mind.
When I first opened my Etsy shop, it was quiet — crickets, really.
I uploaded my birthday templates with so much excitement, but for months, not much happened. It was slow, and there were plenty of moments when I wondered if anyone would ever find my little corner of the internet.
I’ll never forget my first sale.
We were on a family holiday, and while my baby was napping, I quickly checked my email — and there it was: a notification from Etsy! I had earned 2€, and to make it even sweeter, my very first customer’s name was Sara — just like me!
It felt like a little sign that I was exactly where I was meant to be. That tiny moment sparked a dream that's grown bigger than I ever imagined.
Today, I’m honored to have helped over 7,500 parents create sweet, memorable celebrations for their little ones.
